Rye
Every winter we plant rye as a cover crop to hold our soils and they actually have a natural ability to suppress weed seeds by not allowing them to germinate. Then we mow it down to add organic matter to our soil, but not before we harvest some fresh for cuts!
Normally we harvest rye in the beginning of June.
