Stock

Stock is a lovely cut flower and is very popular in floristry. 

It is a one and done cut for us, meaning we cut the entire plant to the ground to harvest.  We cram as many successions of these beauties as we can into our late fall, winter, and early spring hoop houses. 

Every seed is either a single flowering bloom or a fully double (which is what florists are used to purchasing).  We love them both as we use many of the singles in our bouquets for grocers only, and to sell as more of a wild flower looking stem to florists.

Did you know that stock is in the brassica family and related to cabbages and broccoli?  Its flowers are also edible, and can be used on plates and salads as a garnish!
