Ranunculus

Ranunculus is the crop that truly kicks off our busy season.  We never seem to have enough for everyone's desires!  Our ranunculus even has a mild sweet rose smell!  These bloom for us in our unheated hoop houses between late February to early April.  The Butterflies last longer into April than the other varieties. We are still experimenting with growing these in heated greenhouses and next year we hope to have more available in Jan-Feb as well.

Did you know ranunculus comes from Israel and is related to buttercups?

More saturated colors supposedly dry well, we have not attempted this yet though.
