Abelia- Canyon Creek
We have trialed this for years in our yard. This taller landscape plant makes the most beautiful semi evergreen cut foliage as well as mid summer blooming panicles that gradually antique into fall in a similar way to antique PG Hydrangeas! They are enjoyed by butterflies and hummingbirds as well!
We just planted them this spring so they are young and we will be selectively harvesting some of the foliage this season.
Current Stage- some flowers or no flowers but colored calyx remains and is antiqued now. The first 6 photos are reflective of what the range they can look like right now.
12-14" stems for now, some branch, some are singles.
Scoop up this beauty when it appears you will not be sorry!
We do not store woody cut stems in our coolers.
Foliage in future years could be from April-October, Flowers from July/Aug- October.
