Hairy Balls

An ornamental and interesting, somewhat suggestive seed pod clusters on long strong stems. In the milkweed family, monarch caterpillars love to eat it and it is always surrounded by butterflies.

A note: Please be careful of it's milky sap as it can cause skin rashes and be damaging to your eyes.

Dryable Pods

We cut these from mid/late August - October or First Frost

Vase Life= 7-12+ days, the foliage will decline before the pods so you can remove the foliage and continue to use the pods.

Chilling: Do not put in a cooler unless it is set to 50 F or above.  Mostly we store them in an air conditioned room.
