Ranunculus- Butterfly

Ranunculus is the crop that truly kicks off our busy season.  We never seem to have enough for everyone's desires! 

These bloom for us in our heated and unheated hoop houses between late January to early April. 

Butterfly Ranunculus is one of the longest lasting stems in the vase.  I have had stems in my house last longer than two weeks sometimes as the side buds all gradually open.

The Butterflies sometimes last longer into April than the other varieties.  

Did you know ranunculus comes from Israel and is related to buttercups?

More saturated colors supposedly dry well, we have not attempted this yet though.
