Poppy

Poppy Flowers are harvested in bud but sometimes "pop" open in the van. We sear the ends of these stems with a blow torch to cauterize them. Wildly, this helps them hydrate for us. If you want to help a poppy "pop" you can gently peel off the skin of the bud. Vase Life 4-6 days.

These babies are a bit finicky to grow sometimes so their season varies some but this year and in past years we have had them from February - early May depending on the weather.

Vase Life= 4-7 days

Poppy Pods -  We are still trying to perfect how we grow these, they don't like to be transplanted so we direct sow them in the fall and hope to have a good crop of pods for the spring.  The plants are massive and produce several stems each.  The flowers only last a day and are huge and beautiful but not a good cut.  The real draw is the pods!  These are also dryable.  Textural.  They range in size from a silver dollar size to a lime.
